​Thomas Academy Of Dance

I began studying tap at the age of 3 and ballet at age 7, from Crosby's School of Dance, in Aiken, S.C. By the age of 12, I was promoted to pointe, and promoted to senior level tap. I participated in Summer Ballet at Crosby's School of Dance every summer from age 7 to 13. At age 15, I auditioned for and was accepted into the Aiken Civic Ballet Company of Crosby's School of dance.

 

I performed every year during Aiken, SC's Fall Festival, "Aiken's Makin'" under Crosby's. After my junior year of high school I participated in Dance Institute, a summer dance program, with the Columbia City Ballet Company, in Columbia, SC. During my senior year of high school I studied ballet, pointe, jazz, and modern dance at Crystal Rango's School of Dance.

 

I attended college at Georgia Southern University where I joined the GSU Concert Dancers which was later changed to The Southern Dance Company.  We performed ballet, tap, jazz, modern, pointe, and hip hop.  We also participated in the Kaleidoscope Arts Festival every spring in Tybee Island, GA.

 

During my last two years of college, I taught ballet and pointe for the Southern Dance Company.  I also taught modern for Georgia Southern's African American performing arts group called Umoja.

 

After college, I returned to my home town of Aiken, SC to study ballet and pointe in the Aiken Civic Ballet Company.  I later became a member of the Aiken Ballet Theater of Aiken Ballet School.

 

A few of my major performances were in The Little Mermaid, of Aiken Ballet Theater, Hansel and Gretal, of Aiken Civic Ballet Company, and the Nutcracker, of Aiken Civic Ballet Company as guest of the Augusta Ballet.

 

Here in the Atlanta area, I instruct tap, ballet and jazz for students from ages 2 years old and up, while teaching pre-pointe and pointe to the Victory Ballet Theatre company members and apprentice company members.
